In all the articles and media coverage I have seen, raves are made out to be a horrible, dangerous drug fest. As a raver, I can confirm that this is not true.

What people do not understand is that a rave is a place where personal expression is welcome, and discrimination is not.

People of different ages, gender and ethnic backgrounds are joined in a friendly environment where a hello is said to all you pass, and people actually say "excuse me" when they need to get by.

Some may see the scene as "bad for today's kids," but if they took the time to look deeper into something they know little about, they may realize this may be one of the events that unites, not divides society. Don't pass judgment on something if you haven't experienced it for yourself.

Next time an article is written about raving, maybe you should ask the ravers themselves. They are the ones involved, and they are the ones inside, having a good time, enjoying the music, the surroundings, and their fellow man. Raving is not about drugs. Raving is about peace, love, unity and respect.
