EDMONTON
- Young people here are being warned that meningitis can be spread at raves and
other large party settings. Dr. Gerry Predy, the Capital Health Authority's
medical officer, said several people who became ill with the deadly infectious
disease last February attended large, rave parties. He said any party where
people use drugs, alcohol, share drinks and cigarettes is a dangerous setting for
the disease to spread.
